Care2Serve is the sole provider of Carer Gateway program in Tasmania.

Through Care2Serve, Tasmanian family and friend carers can access a range of support and information that can help them in their caring role.

If you need help in your caring role, we can provide advice, information, and referrals, provide you with a tailored solution specific to your needs, help you take a break, or be there for you in case of emergencies.

We also offer you a safe space to talk confidentially with a counsellor or connect you with a coach to work on your goals.

Access a range of support and services

Caring can often involve dealing with different service providers, and you can often feel lost. We will help you navigate the maze of social services such as My Aged Care, Veterans Affairs, NDIS and more.

We will listen to your needs and build a short-term package of support to help you in your caring role. You may be able to get practical help with things like planned respite, meal preparation or transport services, depending on your needs and preferences and availability.

Sometimes caring can be tough, and talking to someone outside of your situation can help. Talk to our professional counsellors, either face-to-face, over the phone or online over Zoom, and share your feelings and challenges in a safe and confidential space.

Work one-on-one with a coach, either in person, over the phone or online over Zoom. Our coach will work with you to identify goals and strategies to help you with your caring role, resilience, and wellbeing. A variety of online coaching modules are also available online.

If you care for someone over 65, or 50 if they are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, they may be eligible for residential respite. We will coordinate your booking and help you with all the information you need.

Join a peer support group, either in person or online, and connect with other carers who understand your situation and can offer friendship and support.

Access emergency support if something unexpected happens that prevents you from caring, such as an illness or injury. Service providers will take care of the person you care for until you are able to resume your role.

We regularly run events and workshops to help you take a break, connect you with other carers and build resilience.
