Week 1. Prepare to Care (on Monday, 3 February) – Navigating the aged care system or supporting someone who is ageing can feel like learning a new language. This session will guide you through the first steps, including finding support, starting conversations and information on advocacy.
Week 2. Staying at Home (on Monday, 17 February) – This session will outline options for staying at home, downsizing, or other living choices. We’ll explore how to support older people at home and home care options.
Week 3. Respite and Residential Aged Care (on Monday, 24 February) – Considering an aged care facility or respite? This session will provide helpful information on short-term stays and permanent care.
Week 4. Planning for Life and End of Life (on Monday, 3 March) – Planning ahead is key, but it can feel overwhelming. This session will break down important topics like Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Advanced Care Directives. Learn how to get the right support and make the process easier for both you and the person you care for.
Week 5. Caring for the Carer (on Monday, 17 March) – In this session, we will explore ways you can prioritise your wellbeing, where to find support, and how to take care of yourself while caring for others.

Registering with Carer Gateway is easy and free. You can do this by phone or online. Simply call 1800 422 737 (press 1 at the menu) to speak with our friendly team, or submit a referral form, and one of our team members will contact you.
Once you submit an EOI, you will be placed on a waitlist. Closer to the event date, our Events team will call/email you to confirm your attendance, along with all necessary information such as meeting time, location, and any requirements for the event.
If you aren’t sure how to get to an event, please talk with our team who can let you know what transport options you might be able to access from your community.
