Are you thinking about going into the workforce, starting a business, or doing some study?

Our pre-employment service offers you the opportunity to work one-on-one with a pre-employment coach to build your confidence, learn new skills, and move towards your goals of work, study, or volunteering.

How does it work?

The focus of pre-employment coaching is on each carer’s individual needs. Your pre-employment coach will get to know you, explore your situation, and help you work out what your next steps are. Whether you want to work, study or start your own business, we will work collaboratively with you to find practical solutions and pursue your career goals. Coaches can help you with:

Setting Career Goals – Discuss your career aspirations and discover the practical steps you can take to achieve them

Cover Letter and Resume Support – Identify transferrable skills from your caring role and help create, update, or review your job application

Job Interviews – Learn and practice the skills that will help you feel confident speaking to recruiters

Self-advocacy – Learn about carer rights in the workplace and how to talk about your caring role with employers

Education and Training – Explore pathways to the courses and qualifications you want to pursue, and study support

Self employment – Developing business ideas and understand next steps towards starting your own business
